A Resource Account is an object in the Exchange Calendar that represents a room or a piece of equipment. This article describes ways to use it, view it, and share it.
This article applies to: Outlook 2016 for Mac, Resource Accounts
What is your Outook for Mac version 2011 or 2016? On your menu bar, click Outlook, Click About Outlook. Check if you haven’t selected U.S. Holidays when you create a new appointment. If you don’t want U.S. Holidays calendar, you can simply remove by right click and then Delete. Recently the US Holidays calendar has been expanded to include various days like Ramadan and Lunar New Year. If you don’t care to see these, remove the US Holidays calendar from your list of subscribed calendars, and add those specific holidays (e.g., Independence Day) that you wish to see to your personal calendar. Schedule (Invite) a Resource
The default setting is that anyone using Exchange Calendar can schedule a resource. However, the owner can change this so that, when someone includes the resource as an invitee to a meeting, the owner (or someone delegated by the owner) approves or denies the request.
* When creating a meeting proposal, ’invite’ the resource by adding them the same way you would add a person.
* Once you’ve added the resource to your invitation, review its free/busy time on the Scheduling tab, just like you would for the people you’ve invited.
Resource Accounts do not allow scheduling conflicts; that is, if the resource already has an event scheduled for a particular time, no one else can ’invite’ the resource to another event. See the Calendar for a Resource where You Have Access Rights

In order to view a Resource Account’s calendar directly, like you’d view your own calendar, the owner (or someone delegated by the owner) must give you access permissions.
* If the resource owner has granted you viewing or editing permissions, you can open the resource’s calendar in the same way that you’d view a shared personal calendar. How to Change the Settings for a Resource
Only the owner (or someone delegated by the owner) can adjust the settings for a resource.
*Configure how the resource can be scheduled, including
* Automatic scheduling vs. request to schedule
* Maximum meeting length
* Whether recurring meetings are allowed
* Various privacy settings
I’ve been looking for an option to add a Holiday Calendar to my Exchange mailbox in a similar way to the Birthday Calendar, which displays as a separate folder in Outlook. I haven’t found out how to do it though.
Is there a way to add a separate Holiday Calendar to my Outlook Calendar as well?
When you have your account configured in Outlook, you can import Holidays into your main Calendar folder. The downside of this method is that it isn’t updated automatically and only shows a limited time into the future.
To add a separate, always up-to-date, Holiday Calendar to your Exchange Online or Outlook.com mailbox, you’ll have to use Outlook on the Web (OWA). Once you’ve added the Holiday Calendar, it will automatically sync with Outlook as well.Adding a Holiday Calendar via Outlook on the Web
